Svelli products are primarily made from erythritol (E 968) - a sweetener produced through the fermentation of glucose derived from EU-certified non-GMO corn. Erythritol also occurs naturally in small amounts in certain fruits such as pears, grapes, and watermelons.

Our Svelli Intense variant combines erythritol with steviol glycosides (E 960), which are extracted from the stevia plant. This combination provides a more intense sweetness and is ideal for recipes where a high level of sweetness is desired using a smaller volume.

Yes - Svelli primarily contains erythritol (E 968), a sweetener that is not fully absorbed by the body and therefore contributes no energy. It is mainly excreted unchanged in the urine. Svelli can therefore be an alternative to sugar for people who wish to reduce their intake of sugar or digestible carbohydrates.

Svelli Classic & Brown:
We recommend using the same amount as sugar (1:1). This provides the same volume and texture. Both have approximately 70% of the sweetness of regular sugar.

Svelli Intense:
Svelli Intense is twice as sweet as sugar - therefore, use only half the amount.

Erythritol - the main ingredient in all products - is classified as a carbohydrate (a sugar alcohol) under EU rules, so it appears under “carbohydrates” on the label. However, it is not metabolised and is excreted unchanged, meaning it does not contribute energy or act like traditional digestible carbohydrates.
